Uploaded Video Workflow

Video Remix Tool for Reframing, Captions, and Narration

Upload an authorized MP4, MOV, or WebM up to 10 minutes and 300 MB, then reframe it, control audio, add captions or narration, and export a new MP4.

Verified output status

Current remix evidence boundary

The live editor and API expose the upload, reframe, caption, narration, audio-mix, export, and retention contracts described here. The public example library does not yet contain an authorized before-and-after remix pair, so no generated short is presented as remix proof.

Why Remix Decisions Matter

Reframing changes what the viewer can see, while new narration and captions can change what the footage appears to mean. The useful workflow is not simply “make this viral.” It starts with authorized source media, a deliberate aspect-ratio choice, readable timing, and a review of every crop, caption, translation, and audio decision.

What Video Remix Controls

VidiPrompt Video Remix works with one video you already own or are authorized to edit. Upload an MP4, MOV, or WebM from 3 seconds to 10 minutes and up to 300 MB, choose source, 9:16, or 16:9 output, then keep the whole frame with a blurred fit or fill the canvas with a crop. You can keep or mute source audio, generate or edit captions, and turn narration off, replace it, or mix it with the original before exporting a new MP4.

What You Can Improve

  • Upload one MP4, MOV, or WebM between 3 seconds and 10 minutes, up to 300 MB
  • Export in the source ratio, portrait 9:16, or landscape 16:9
  • Choose fit with a blurred background or fill with a crop for reframed output
  • Use automatic or custom captions and turn narration off, replace it, or mix it with source audio

Workflow

  1. Step 1

Upload a video you have the right to edit and wait for its private preview and analysis to finish

  2. Step 2

Choose output framing, caption source and treatment, language, narration, and original-audio mix

  3. Step 3

Review the preview, export the project in the background, and download the completed MP4 from your library

Inputs to prepare

  • One authorized MP4, MOV, or WebM within the 10-minute and 300 MB limits
  • The destination aspect ratio and a decision between preserving the full frame or filling the canvas
  • Verified caption text or permission to use automatic transcription and any selected translation
  • An optional narration script plus voice, source-audio, volume, and ducking choices

Visual direction

Use fill-crop only when the important action remains inside the new frame. Use fit-blur when edge content, demonstrations, slides, or multiple people would be lost. VidiPrompt offers deliberate framing controls; it does not claim automatic speaker tracking or automatic highlight selection.

Working example

Topic prompt

Upload an authorized eight-minute landscape lesson, keep the entire demonstration visible in a blurred 9:16 frame, create English captions from the source audio, and mix a short explanatory voiceover below the original demonstration sound.

Possible opening line

Keep the complete demonstration visible while making this landscape lesson readable on a vertical screen.

Accuracy and disclosure review

  • - Upload only media you own or are authorized to edit, translate, narrate, and export
  • - Review automatic captions, translations, crop boundaries, and mixed audio before publishing
  • - Disclose material edits, synthetic narration, sponsorship, or other context when the destination or subject requires it

Current limitations

  • - Video Remix does not automatically identify highlights, split one upload into many clips, or dynamically track a moving speaker
  • - Cropping can remove important edge content, and automatic captions or translations can contain errors
  • - The tool produces a new media file; it does not guarantee platform acceptance, distribution, engagement, or rights clearance

Frequently Asked Questions

What video files can I upload?

The current product accepts MP4, MOV, and WebM files from 3 seconds to 10 minutes and up to 300 MB.

Can Video Remix turn landscape footage into a vertical video?

Yes. Choose portrait 9:16 output, then use fill-crop or preserve the complete source frame with a blurred fit. Review the result because the tool does not dynamically track subjects.

Can I keep the original audio?

Yes. You can keep or mute it, or mix it with a generated voiceover using automatic or custom audio controls.

How long are uploaded project files retained?

Video projects and associated assets are ordinarily retained for up to seven days. Incomplete uploads expire after 24 hours, and the retention process automatically deletes expired project files.
